THE IB' SPEAKS As I look down from my vantage polnt hlgh uoon the mountaln s1de I remember the words of a great man who Sald All the world s a stafve and all the men and women are merely the players And I smlle down on the stage that IS B H S as I recall the drama that has just unfolded before me and IS about to come to a close The tlme was 1950 the scene was B H S and 5 ou the class of 54 were the cast The curtaln was gomg up as 1t rose I saw on the stage some 200 scrambllng freshmen As Act I progressed you were smeared wlth l1DSIlCk durlnq 1n1t1at1on and later honored at the Freshmen Get Acqualnted Dance Chmaxlng Act II were your Sophomore pxcnlc and the crownlng of your candldate for football queen You fllled your roles Wlth even greater zest and enthuslasm than those who played these parts before you Act III brought the Junlor Semor prom and banquet Your hard work was well repald for the memory of these events w1ll rem 1n wlth you al ways Even as the curtaln was r1s1ng on the fourth and f1nal act I knew that you had grown up and were ready to assume your roles as the leaders of B H S As senlors you rebullt a dylng sp1r1t 1n B H S and ralsed IIS stand ards even hlgher Your drama w1ll reach 1ts cllmax on graduatlon nlght and as the stralns of Pomp and Cxrcumstance follow you out of Warren Stadlum the cur tam w1ll slowly fall You w1ll go on to take new parts ln the drama of llfe but there w1ll never be another l1ke th1s Other classes w1ll come and go and fxll these same roles but I know as I l1e here watchmg over you that none w1ll ever qu1te match your Splflt and enthuslasm 6 v ' GC Y Q H 77 ' ' . . , 7 7 ' ' 'S . v ' s A . k .
