r A Counselors
Since this yearbook was dedicated partly to
Miss Branch, we feel that we should tell you
something about her background in education.
She was born in Ann Arbor and attended Ann
Arbor High. After graduating she went to the
University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan and
the University of Florida. She majored in coun-
seling and guidance. We are very fortunate to
have her in our school. Many thanks, Miss
The Administration would not be able to function properly if
there weren't some fine women in the main office to keep the ma-
chines running smoothly. Mrs. Boyer, Mrs. Ross, Mrs. Wilson, and
Mrs. Blaker are key people for the school staff. We need their ef-
ficiency and we appreciate it.
Of course there are even more people who help make a school
run smoothly. We must not forget the wonderful custodians, head-
ed by Mr. Sherman, and the cafeteria staff, managed by Mrs. Rub-
lman. fThank you too, Mr. Williams, for supervising the coffee.
You are a big help in the cooking area also.2 The Birney students
want to thank each and everyone for a fine school year, 1961-
Though new to our school, Mr. Bandalene is by
no means new to the teaching profession. How-
ever this alone does not make a good counselor.
It takes understanding, kindness, and spirit. Mr.
Bandalene has all three of these plus a winning
personality. We are indebted to him for the many
services he has unselfishly rendered to us. Merci
beaucoup, gracias, and thanks!
