faces with his family at a basketball game. Dr. Henry King Stanford has since he assumed the presidency of Birmingham-Southern College August 1, 1957, materially brightened the future of the school. Since he has been here, he has launched a ten-year, ten-million dollar development program for the college. Dr. Stanford, who before coming to Southern was president of the Georgia State College for Women at Milledgeville, received degrees from Emory, the University of Denver, and New York University. But most important, he has widened the scope of our outlook and gained our lasting respect for his abilities. His interest and participation in all phases of campus life; his vast experience and travels have stim- ulated Birmingham-Southern.
