In addiTion To The Tamiliar single-wing, The Miners used The T TormaTion and a number oT Tricky shiTT variaTions. All in all, The Team had a good season - one upon which To build a more successTul cam- paign nexT year. We won Two, IosT Three Thril- lers. and had one Tie. The Miners sTarTed The season OTT in greaT sTyle wiTh a 33-O win over C5ranTsville. The nexT game, wiTh The laTer-To-be STaTe Champs, - Murray l-ligh - was The game oT The year. Murray was Tavored by aT leasT Three Touchdowns, buT wiTh some Tine run- ning by Bob PeTerson and wiTh some excellenT play by The enTire Team, The Murray SparTans were iusT able To elce ouT a narrow 28-26 vicTory. Every Miner was TighTing his hearT ouT. Bob PeTerson ran Tor Two Touchdowns Trom lciclc-oTTs and passed To Tommy James Tor Two more T.D.'s. The Tollowing game was wiTh The Cyprus PiraTes who came over and raided The Miners l8-O. The sTudenT body Traveled To Tooele and waTched The Blue and WhiTe run over The BuT- Talo's 25-I2.
