Num' ...Q Eyas Trovides Little COME ALONG YOU EAGLET-Danny Stock- ton, an unidentified sophomore, and Bob Weldon. What is an eaglet? It is a young bird not yet able to prey for himself. Eaglet is derived from the Greek word Eyas. Like the eaglet, the sophomore learns to prey for himself in our BHS. This illustrates the purpose of the Eyas Committee, which is to help newcomers adjust themselves. feel a part of the school, and to help the three classes get better acquainted. We learn a lot about each other in Eyas Week, and the incoming sophomores even more. Si? sr at : DAVY CROCKETT AND BUNNY RABBITSW John Keenan, Patty Fredrickson, Gary Sackett, Gloria Gallagher, Vickki Orton, and Mike Pierce had their taste of Eyas Court. During Eyas Week the sophomores were required to be bunny rab- bits, scarecrows, and Davy Crockett. These soph- omores were the students who wore the best costumes during the week. The sophomore girls could not wear any make-up, jewelry, or belts. All sophomores wore that wonderful Sopho- more tag so they would be seen by the upper- classmen. No sophomore could go through Eyas Week without being initiated, All had to wear bibs, carry teething rings, and last but not least they had to learn the school song. Education but Lots of jun SIELER SINGS DAVY CROCKETT-Bill Mor- gan, Dennis Sieler, and Kenny Hunt. The Eyas court had the Pirate theme for this year's court. The sophomore either had to pay for his crime or walk the plank, so they all paid for the crimes. The upperclassmen were delighted when Dennis sang Davy Crockett and they went wild when Kenny had to parade around the gym in girls clothes and in the end he got a face full of pie. Oh, what a tasty pie. As always, some poor recruited sophomore was willing to spend some of his time scraping and painting the B on the front sidewalk. Bill Mor- gan made sure that they did their job right. The B adds much to the appearance of the school. The sophomore students who participated in the initiation are the ones who will enjoy their three years at BHS.
