Choral Department The Chorus and Special Vocal En- semble, both, have performed many con- certs this past year and have a few sched- uled for Spring as well. These two groups have been asked to sing at such places as the Andover Country Club for the Rotary Club Christmas party, Parish Hall for St. Theresa's Womens Club, Our Lady of Nazareth in Wakefield, the Locke and Marshall Middle Schools, and the C1900 Club. This year the chorus and Ensemble per- formed something a bit out of the ordi- nary at their Christmas concerts, The Chorus accompanied the Ensemble in a choreographed medley from Codspell. This medley was a hit with the audiences for which it was performed. ln April of l978, the Choral department will present the Spring musical under the direction of Paul Cox. The musical this year will be Meridith VVilson's The Music Man. The Seniors of the Choral department will present their Senior Recital in early May. This will be the final performance of a very enjoyable and exciting year. '? M-...S 8

Spirit Week During the week of February I3-T7 the winter cheerleaders held a Spirit Week for the students of the school. Due to the snowstorm the week before, many activi- ties had to be cancelled There were still many events going on though. On Thursday ot the week a Cong Show was held. The contestants were all students from the school and the judges were teachers. The winner was a late con- testant from the audience, Benny Cawth- ron, and for a prize he received 35.12 in pennies. The Cong Show was very suc- cessful and everyone enjoyed it. We also had a 50's dress-up day that same day, Everyone in the school was asked to dress-up. We also held a bub- blegum blowing contest in the cafeteria between the winter sports captains. Deb- bie Cifford, the girls basketball captain won the contest and received bubblegurn for her prize. Cn Friday, February 17, the winter cheerleaders put on a rally. This is to give attention to the winter sports teams and let the students know what their teams have accomplished in the winter season. A great effort was put out by all involved. The rally was the finishing touch for Spirit Week. - R ljji TO
