The sociefy has been a pari of rhe C.S.F. ever since, bui owing io conflicfs ii has noi' been especially acfive during ihe pasi year. lniiiaiion of new members was solemnized before 'the siudeni' body during 'rhe lasi weelc of school, and a dance sponsored affer- warcls by Ihe socieiy was enjoyed by +he members of 'rhe srudeni' body. The purpose of The Spanish club is 'ro siimu- laie a greaier undersranding, on ihe pari of 'rhe siudeni, of 'lhe language and cusioms of Spain. AI' ihe meeiings programs are given and Spanish songs sung. In fhe spring a Spanish banquei was given ai' which Spanish cusioms, speech and dress were carried oui. The Spanish club sponsored a rallc on Mexico, given by Dr. Thomas of San Jose who has speni much of his life in Mexico, as a pari of iheir work. . In January rhey aiiended ihe showing ol: Foo1'ligh+ Parade in Gridley. The meeiings are held on Tuesday and Thursday af which programs are given and sewing is done. As a means of raising funds for ihe club several luncheons al' noon have been given.
