WEAPONS DEPARTMENT The Weapons Department, nine First Division is manned by Boatswain's Mates and deck Seaman and I em odies the seamanship of forgotten days of old. The men of First Division tend all topside decks, provide h l men andl k t f b ' 9 ms oo ou s or ridge watches, man the anchor, and supply boat's crew and cox- swains, in addition to manning the flight deck for helicopter operations and rigging all stations during underway replenishment. Second Division is made up of highly trained Gunners Mates tMissilesl and Fire Control Technicians tMissilesl who maintain and operate BIDDLE's TERRIERIASROC launcher and its associated fire control radars. Third Division consists of Gunners Mates tGunsl and Fire Control Technicians tGunsl - two rates of a new breed of technicians who replace the gunners of old. The men of Third Division are highly trained in the electronics and hydraulics needed to operate and maintain BIDDLE's 5754 caliber gun mount and her two 3 !50 caliber mounts and their associated fire control systems. Fourth Division is responsible for the ship's Anti-Submarine Warfare capability by operations and maintenance of BIDDLE's sonar and six torpedo tubes. Sonarmen and Torpedomen tend the latest-model, high-powered, long range sonar in the fleet, operationally man it for target detection and tracking, man the torpedo tubes and maintain the ship's torpedos. ty men strong, is composed of four divisions LCDR R.
