N N ,fail , 1 47 3 V LT Robert S. Gerity, USN, was the first officer to report to BIDDLE in Bath, Maine. As the senior officer present, he was responsible for the first crucial steps in organizing the nucleus crew and the acceptance of BIDDLE's delivery on behalf of the U. S. Navy. The First lankowners DC1 Rochefort was not only the first enlisted man to report, but also the first to ship over on board, September 19, 1966, at Bath, Maine. A year later he was promoted to CPO and ultimately selected for Warrant Officer. Other plankowners shown are Captain Scott, LTJG Howell, MPA, LT Davis, Chief Engineer and Petty Officer Rochefort.
