Analyzing the oper- ational program and hardware interface was another area of concern. By keep- ing the computer systems operational, the DS's ensured that the ship was al- ways battle ready. Another vital function of the men of CSD was the operation of the SNAP Il shipboard administration computer sys- tem. The SNAP ll system was continual- ly used for ordering supplies, tracking personnel records, and documenting problems with shipboard equipment. Throughout the cruise the Data Systems Technicians quietly, but effectively, car- ried out their duties.
