COACHES Cecil LaGrone , Bob MacAfee The Choctaws' 1976 football season was comprised of both dis- appointments and pleasant surprises. The initial disappointment came when we lost our opener 21-'7 to the undefeated, number four-ranked Thompson Warriors after being as tough an opponent as the Warriors faced all season. The most pleasing part of the season was defeating the arch-rival West Blocton Tigers 14-12. This upset sent the Tigers on a four- game losing streak. With playoff hopes still in the air, disappointment once again entered the picture as the Choctaws lost to Clanton 14-12. This loss eliminated all chances of participating in the playoffs. The Choctaws' final victory was 3-0 over undefeated Dallas County. The thrill of this last pleasant surprise was lessened by the ironic realization that the Bibb County Choctaws could have been the best football team in the area. Our final record of 4 wins and 6 losses contradicted the capabilities that every Choctaw knew their team possessed. 92 MANAGERS Bobby MacAfee , Charles Moore, Butch Hamrick
