Six EMIZRSON D. .lARVlS, HA., MIX. limerson D. hlarvis, a graduate of Franklin College and the University ol' lndiana, assumed the position of superintendent of the llexley schools on the first of january. Coming to Bexley after serving thirteen years in thc same eapaeity at Perryshurg, Ohio, Nr. larvis, a eontrihuting writer for numerous education puhlieations, is preparing a hoolt ahout sehools for his doctor's degree at Ohio State. Heading and writing are his favorite activities. Nr. 'larvis's attitude toward his associates is aptly described in his desire to meet as many of the student hody as is possihle and to he regarded hy them as a friend. Being a strong advocate of complete harmony hetween the students, teaching stall, and main- tenance employees, he is quite well pleased with the potentialities of Bexley, lor he states, Bexley has the unique advantage of heing unified in many ways, so that the usual prohlems confronting a superintendent are either ahsent or of sueh a nature that a satis- liaetory agreement ean easily he reached. ln unity is strength and from that strength we can gain the power to modify, adapt, evolve. and ilnpleinent our inereased understanding of the purpose, oppor- tunity, and responsihility of the secondary sehoolsf'
