The TirsT maTch was played againsT Columbus Academy on The Bexley CourTs.
The Blue and WhiTe neTTers conquered The Vikings, Tour maTches To one, and swepT
The singles play.
The Lions nexT Trekked To WashingTon C. I-I. where They found The ouT oT Town
climaTe noT so invigoraTing, Tor The home Team adminisTered a 5-O deTeaT To Them.
ReTurning To Bexley, The Lions won Their second maTch on The home courTs, This
Time from EasT. The Tiger neTmen proved To be no maTch Tor The Tlashy Lions and
were shuT ouT by a 5-O counT.
However The Tollowing week The Lion den was invaded by a powerful Upper
ArlingTon Golden Bear, led by Bobby FaughT, a well-known Tigure in Ohio scholasTic
Tennis circles. The visiTors Trounced Bexley To The Tune oT 7-O.
ln a reTurn maTch wiTh Academy The Blue and WhiTe were again vicTorious, win-
ning This one 4-2.

by The individual perTormances of several ol: The Blue and WhiTe TanksTers, noTably
OTTO Schenk and John l-loTlines. The enTire Team was builT around a nucleus oT These
Two boys and They responded nobly, Taking a large number oT poinTs in every meeT.
The Sea Lions' TirsT meeT was wiTh Xenia. Though They kepT wiThin close range
oT The ulTimaTe winners, The Blue and WhiTe swimmers did noT have enough all-round
sTrengTh To Take The decision and were deTeaTed, 47-28. OTTQ Schenk Took Two TirsT
places To lead The aTTernoon's scoring wiTh I0 markers.
The undeTeaTed Academy Vikings, Columbus ciTy champions, overwhelmed The
Lions in The nexT meeT by a 5I-24 counT. Jack l-loiclines paced The Team scoring
wiTh nine Tallies as he salvaged Bexley's own TirsT, in diving.
Lone vicTory oT The season was recorded over Greeniiield McClain. The Tinal
score was Bexley 48, McClain 29.
