The TooTball Team was The usual high caliber club, and in The wriTer's opinion, was as good as Grandview and WesTerville who Tied Tor The championship: buT They boTh beaT us in The lasT minuTe oT play. The Lions Tinished Third: This is The TirsT Time They have been ouT oT TirsT place since The League was organized in 1930. They sTarTed ouT by beaTing ST. lvlary's 7-O and Tying a sTrong WilmingTon Team which had pre- viously beaTen SouTh High 28-O. And Then They walloped NorTh I2-6, which was The TirsT Time any Bexley Team had licked NorTh in TooTball. The season aT This poinT was sure To be a success due To The NorTh vicTory, alThough we did noT win The CenTral Buckeye crown. The Team was a wonderTul deTensive Team buT poor on oTTense. The baskeTball Team Tinished lasT Tor The TirsT Time in The hisTory oT The league. Occasionally They played like a greaT Team buT aT oTher Times were nosed ouT by very close scores, Thereby claiming The hard luck record OT all Times and CarlTon H. SmiTh Tinishing wiTh six wins and Twelve losses. The Track Team beaT Circleville, Canal WinchesTer, and GroveporT buT were de- TeaTed by WesTerville. However, They Tinished Third in The League meeT which is The lowesT we have ever Tinished in The league. The baseball Team is only eclipsed by lasT year's Tine Team buT promises To make a beTTer record Than ThaT Team. Having won Tour ouT oT six now, iT appears ThaT only Three or Tour games will be losT ouT oT Ten played. The swimming Team losT only one meeT and ThaT To Greemfield by a single poinT. However, in ThaT meeT Two Bexley men were ill and undoubTedly The Team would have been undeTeaTed had They been able To Take parT. The Tennis Team is above The average and is undeTeaTed To daTe, alThough very Tew maTches have been played because oT inclemenT weaTher. The golT Team has won Three and losT Three To daTe and is a beTTer Than average Toursome. By glancing aT The above records one can see ThaT The Lions have been a liTTle below par This year as iudged by The excellenT Teams oT Toregoing years. However, iT we iudge by The record oT oTher Teams in The league, we Tind ThaT only Two or Three had beTTer all-around records This year. Also, besides TooTball and baskeTball, we oTTer Tive spring sporTs, and no oTher C. B. L. school oTFers more Than Two. This would Tend To weaken spring sporTs because oT less concenTraTion. The boys who are reTurning nexT year To Take The places oT Those who graduaTe appear To be worThy To carry The load, and, we hope, will bring Bexley back To The high plane of success she has experienced in The pasT.
