HISTORY DEPARTMENT The history department merged with the English department for the writing of research papers this year. Instead of having two entirely different papers, the seniors chose a history subiect and the paper was corrected by the English paper for form and the history teacher for information. The history de- partment also participated in the Large Group Instruction program at Beverly I-Iigh. Lectures given by department mem- bers were on the Monroe Doctrine, Alienated Youth, Art of the Renaissance, Alcoholism, Criminology, and Drugs, and the Critique of Franklin Roosevelts Domestic Policy. Also, a special independent study math was offered to interested students. Q' Af' wi BUSINESS DEPARTMENT Business Education provides vocational training to stu- dents to enable them to secure positions after gradua- tion, and also as a foundation tor further education, This year, the Business Department incorporated several in- novations into the program. Tapes were used in teaching the typewriter keyboardg data processing theory was ot- tered as a part ot several courses.
