Explorers Club The Explorers Club is comprised of students in the higher fields of science. The Club meets at the research center of the Lnited Shoe Machinery Corp.. where the members have access to computers and laboratories. Here. they do problems and experiments in such fields as data processing. Biology Club Each student in the Biology Club has an annual project. Research and experimentation raising ham- sters. breeding black and white mice. and plant grow- ing is carried on in the school laboratories. At the meetings. the students give reports on their progress or results. Moth Teom Under the direction of Mr. Laurence Wiiner. the math team meets and discusses various aspects of mathematics. including inductive and deductive rea- soning and trigonometric identities. The team prepares twice weekly for competition in math tournaments at neighboring high schools. Weight Lifters Club The weight'lifters club is comprised of five ener- getic young men interested in physical development through the art of weight lifting. The Activities of the B.H.S. band ranged from halftime performances at football games, to the commencement march at graduation. The band usually met five activity periods weekly to rehearse arrangements: during football season, the band practiced marching routines together with the Flag and Baton Squads. As a part of an exchange concert program, the Band, Baton Squad, and Flag Squad, under the direction of Mr. Lawrence P. Drouin. traveled to the Chatham. New York high school for a week- end and reciprocated by host- ing the Chatham band. These exchange concerts provide the students an opportunity to perform before a variety of audiences. as well as allow- ing them to become acquaint- ed with student life in dif- ferent cities.
