Sewing, cook- ing, and child care under the supervision of Miss Millicent Boswell and Miss Eileen Hen- nessey prepared the girls for their future as homemakers. Boys learned trades such as metalworking, wood working, printing, and auto repair under the supervision of Mr. Daniel Shea and Mr. Otto Winquist. Students who possessed the talent, the abili- ty, or the desire to learn the fine arts were invited and encouraged to partake in the courses and the extracurricular activities re- lated to art, music, and mechanical drawing. Mrs. Edith Carr, the school nurse, had im- portant responsibilities to the health of the students. It was her job to care for those who became ill during the school day.
