Putting the knowledge to use. l LANGUAGES Uniting efforts with the Social Studies Department, the Language Department, too, helped our world grow smaller. By learn- ing a foreign language, the students better understood how a person in that country thinks. The knowledge of a foreign lan: guage encouraged students to travel to the country in which the language is spoken, Thus, the Language Department provided a stepping stone to seeing a country first hand.

PINE N219 Culture was kept alive by the Music and the Art Departments of Beverly High School. Students who possessed the talent, the abili- ty, or the desire to learn the fine arts were invited and encouraged to partake in the courses and the extracurricular activities re- lated to art, music, and mechanical drawing.
