MUSIC AND ART The music department, under the direction of Mr. Lawrence P. Drouin, encompasses not only students seriously preparing for a career in musicology, but those expressing an interest in the instrumental and choral groups for challenge and enioyment. The music program enables students to obtain an insight in music appreciation and theory, however, the main objective, expressed by Mr. Drouin is to succeed in communicating to his pupils the ultimate in musical enioyment. Students were offered programs in jewelry craft, mechanical drawing, and commercial and general art. Exceptional work was often exhibited. FOU DATIO FOR A FUTURE CAREER BEVERLY TRADE HIGH SCHOOL In preparation for gainful employment immediately following graduation, interested boys have attended the Beverly Trade High School, under the direction of Mr. Joseph Brucchi. They received instructions in shop and related subiects, alternated weekly with academic studies. The program in which they participated con- sisted of productive work in shop classes and courses in English, 'history, citizenship, and economics, hy- giene, and related subiects in trade drawing, mathe- matics, science and trade topics. The boys were trained to be skilled workers in various fields including cabi- netmaking, auto mechanics, machinery, carpentry, patternmaking, printing and sheet metal.
