We, the Class of Nineteen Hundred and Fifty-Six, have had the opportunity to acquire a basic education. Our extra-curricular activities have al- lowed us to develop qualities of leadership and have prepared us for future training. Along with these, we have been offered many social activities which develop our personalities. These charms have become a part of us. So, too, may they serve as pleasant memories for us throughout the years. 4 ' f ' ro? f Q , x -. F ,, U16 6111 As Solemn Sophomorcs As Sophomores we broke into the theatrical world with junior Miss, as seen in this first picture, which won first prize in Drama Night, 1953. Sallie Boyson, our star, is shown accepting the award. Win- ning the competition is a unique achievement for Sophomores. Another highlight of our Sophomore year was our first dealing with politics which proved successful with the election of Harry Ball, Presidentg Bill Gobeille, Vice Presidentg Irene Manzi, Secretaryg and Marylou Bunk, Treasurer. As newcomers to the game we listened intently to everything, as seen in the fourth picture, even the perplexing Latin. f 7956 As jauufy juniars Our play in the junior year, The Devil and Miss Appleby, if presented on Broadway, would surely have been a hit, especially with Roger Litka, the best actor, as the Devil. Congratulations are due to james Leahy, who received the Chemistry award. The result of the juniors' second trip to the polls was the elec- tion of Harry Ball, President, Frey Myer, Vice Presi- dent, Irene Manzi, Secretary, and Marylou Bunk, Treasurer, whom we see in the lower right-hand corner. As in the past years, two boys and two girls, Sallie Boyson, Debbie Wetmore, Bill Gobeille, and Fred Myer, were chosen to act as Marshals for the Senior graduation. .A KJ- ' 'Er' Q.. The Class of '56 are hard at work at our history, but judging from the grins, not much Muzzey will be outlined this period! joy was of great abun- dance at Drama Night in 1956 as the upperclass showed our true winning colors once again. Led by Russell Copeland, we took first prize with the play Seeds of Suspicion. Back to the old grind once more, as Frank Carbone has no qualms about French. Seniors may be mathematicians in the future, but right now they are ready to dig the trig with a little prodding from Miss Hett. + N5 fi - U' W ' 'QRS I K' sw Q 1 I K 1 K-3 X lludergrads In Gt 61 ii rf Q 62 , , I.. iifxf. ax Mb X05 X bk g, . 1 Ufasgfir' f - wg 7, fj ' N-- Q7o0,, Z . Chosen by their fellow students the class officers, Robert Nolette, Presidentg Nancy Flewelling, Vice Presidentg Isabel Drinkwater, Secretaryg and Marcia Duwart, Treasurer, did an able job in planning class affairs. Displaying their dramatic talent, the actors and actresses of the class presented A Date for Bobbie on Drama Night. In this play, Norman Wallis excelled and was awarded the best actors medal. As students, the class followed varied and interesting paths. In the top photograph, the girls are preparing for a major occupation as housewives. In the Boys, Glee Club, the juniors, assisted by the upper classmen, are singing in close harmony. As juniors, this class will know what it is to become the second most important group in the school, the first being the Seniors. Xl f 1957 The present juniors have continued to capably manage their class affairs. At the beginning of this year the class elected their officers: Norman Cressy. President, Bill Scott, Vice President, Ruth MacLeod, Secretary, and Marcia Duwart, Treasurer, who are shown in the second picture from the top. The junior Class dance was later held to the jingle of the purse strings. The actors, in the top photo, presented the delightful comedy, Sleep, Baby, Sleep in Drama Night. To carry on the important business of the class, all the homerooms elected presidents to compose the executive committee, which is shown in the pic- ture on the bottom left. Now the task of preparing for future occupations confronted the class. For in- stance, the picture at the bottom right shows a busy class of aspiring secretaries. Along with numerous other activities, this class successfully completed their second year, and are hopefully anticipating their chance to be big wheels. Q10 1 'Im Q CI X l C? U15 611155 af I 958 The Class of 1958 started off their three-year en- campment at B.H.S. with a bang. They presented the theater-goers with a hilarious play, Ghost Story. The cast, as seen in the first picture, seem to be enjoying themselves. But first things first. To lead their class, they elected Henry Betts, President, Herb Hammond, Vice President, Ellen Corning, Secretary, and Phyllis Albert, Treasurer. Also, to carry on that all-important class business, each homeroom sent its president as a delegate to the executive committee, seen in the bottom picture. The bewildered feeling caused by those uncooperative lockers soon passes as the Sophs get the hang of it.
