Dec. 10 af Si .Si KH Si Sept 1947 - June 1950 New recruits came aboard S.S. B. H. S. Rough sea for a month. Finally calm. Out of the crew four oflicers were cited. They were George Accomando, Com- mander of the fleet, john Farrell, Lt. Commander, Elinor Dwyer, Chief Steward, and Shirley Dion, Pursor. Weathered the gale-first report cards. The crew presented the skit, The Wraith of Wrath. Members of the crew who were in this skit were the following: Paul Lester, Charles Hiltunen, janet Lawler, Jeannette Surles, Dick Lebel, Thomas Grady, Dick Norris, andjean Godbout. janet Lawler received the best acting award. Boarded S.S. Student Council for spring prom. Very successful. Frannie Story's orchestra. Things relatively quiet until june. Dockedjune 25A75 day leave. Second Voyage. New Admiral aboard-Mr. Smith. Adjusted and capable crewmen. Crew cited the following officers: George Accomando, Harold Ransom, Elinor Dwyer, and Shirley Dion. Ship had an excellent football crew. Outstanding game was with S.S. Gloucester High School. Crewmen did a wonderful job. Crew presented Goodnight Please. Cast included Irma Russell, Paul Lester janet Lawler, john McKenna, Tom Grady, Dick Lebel, and Jeannette Surles. john McKenna received best-acting award.

Student Council. All enjoyed this cruise! Skipper Preston appointed four crewmen to act as marshals when 1st class seamen received their stripes. They were the following: George Accomando, Elinor Dwyer, Jean Stapledon, and Ben Bowden. Outstanding golf team. State champions. Hurricane. Severe exams-few of crew washed overboard. Senior Assembly: Awards to crewmen. jean Stapledon received a book for being an outstandingjunior girl. Fred Clapp took over the post as Captain of the Student Council. Ben Bowden became head of the traffic squad. Manyjuniors ushered at the Senior reception. A colorful event! Came into port. Another 75 day leave. Third Voyage. Important year ahead. Oilicers appointed: George Accomando, Dominic Abate, Elinor Dwyer, and Dick Lebel. Important visitor aboard, Charles Laughton. Cross Country team State Champions. Crew again had successful football squad. Many crewmen did exceptional work. Drama Nightx The Curtain. Cast: Helen Noyes, Paul Lester, Margaret Low, Dick Lebel, and Tom Grady. Margaret Low received best-acting award. Basketball crew really hitting the deck. New coach aboard. Senior Social. Skipper Preston, along with his mates, Miss Ray and Miss Sakrison, planned suc- cessful social. Senior homerooms chiefs were chaperones. Miss Watters, Miss Markey, and Miss Carter working diligently on Senior Year Book. Senior Play-Perfect cast. Banquet and reception to be marveled at even years later!
