Uur Administration Seniors: The only certain thing in this changing world is that there will be change. The rate of change will no doubt be much faster since the release of atomic energy, iust as gunpowder and steam and gasoline produced a faster rate. lf you permit yourself to become fixed or even slow to react to change, you will find the world a difficult place in which to live and work, ln your edu- cation, both in school and later, pre- pare a broad base of learning and ex- perience, so that you can shift as the World changes, without getting off that firm foundation, mentally and spiritu- ally. Class of l946:: When you complete your high school coursefyou take on a great responsibility. You are expected to be a leader of, an adviser to, and an ex- ample for those who have not the knowledge that you have. f This is the age of propaganda, of atomic bombs and rocket planes. They are all valuable but dangerous-propa ganda is perhaps the rnost dangerous. Common sense is about the only de- fense you have against it. Develop that sense. Learn to think, to sift out the grains of truth from the Wealth of chaff that is hurled at you daily. Do as debaters, demand factual proof. Don't accept just One Man's Opinion ! Beacon -- 4
