Chronicles Ui the Senior Class Thinking back on our freshman year, we remember how excited we were to be in ninth grade studying a real foreign language CLatinl, struggling with another language of x's and y's in algebra, and worming our way through TREASURE ISLAND. Our sophomore year we were honest to goodness senior high students, and we started the year off by electing Joe Pelesky, presidenty Sam Yakish, vice-president: Paul Fidel, secre- taryg and Lester jackson, treasurer. This all star male cast did an excellent job in handling dues and a skating party to add to our pot of silver. We were well represented in the oper- etta Words and Music as chorus members. Miss Golden undertook a responsible job when she decided to take our class to the Buhl Plane- tarium. Who could forget that street car ride? Our junior year we elected Paul Fidel, president: Marjorie Tebbs, Vice-president: Fran- ces Murdoch, secretaryg and Bill McNary, treas- urer. Our main goal was a stupendous Prom. Saga lil 7:30-Sr: Oh! My achin' back! What a skat- ing party! Holy cow, twenty minutes until bus time and A Capella practice this morning. A 8:3Oe-Miss McNary: Please open the eyes when singing. 9:l5eMiss Lyon: Sit down and start typing. Bill, turn around. l0:OO-Sr: Good morning, Mr. Glass, and how are we today? Mr. Glass: Good morning, ,my senior sudents in Chemistry-elect. This morn- ing we shall have a little quiz-the six weeks exam. ll:25-Mrs. Pitts: Please rise and summarize briefly Acts l, ll, lll, IV, and V of Mac- beth. Sr. Macbeth killed Duncan and Mac- duff killed Macbeth. 12:22-Sr: Toot, toot. Out of my way-walk on your own bunions-let's go-what El To make money, we held more skating parties and the overwhelming hit Girl Shy. Our rings were ordered in October, but we had to wait until the last day of school before they arrived. Oh bliss!!! Our Prom was all the success we had hoped it would be and no one will ever forget the Washington and jeffer- son Hotel with Red Carter's Orchestra. Of course we did have to eat fish because of the meat shortage, but that was the war's fault, not ours. Our senior year loe Pelesky was voted president: Doris Leonard, vice-president: Mar- jorie Tebbs, secretary, and john Carroll, treas- urer. We were grateful the war was over and none of our boys had actually gone into battle. We were also a much more serious group, real- izing our responsibility to our community. As we leave Bethel High School to enter the adult world, it is our hope for the future that we will be able to prove our merit. Student is this, a funeral procession?-come on, come on, l'm hungry-Oh, no, not that --enot baked beans four times this week. l:lOeMr. Parke: Today our discussion shall be on Should the C. l. O. demand 70 cents an hour increase, or Should women work in steel mills. Sr: Psst! Let me see your second trig problem. 2:00-Mrs. Henry: Now girls, these gym per- iods should help us develop our mental and physical standards. We shall be- gin by playing volley ball. Off the floor, those without tennis shoes. 2:45-Mr. Roth: Thirty-five cents is the stand- ard price for protractors and ten cents for compasses. Take it or leave it. 3:25wSr: Let me out. l'm free-free, I said.- Who hooked my boots--move-ohh, I forgot, there's a Hl-LITE and a Girl Re- serve meeting. Now l shall become a split personality.
