PIGSKIN PUWWUW HIGHLIGHTS HUIVIECUIVIING ACTIVITIES ff jf 2 1 I . aa I ? W, ,,,,, . 'zsgfg M, 'TLIEEN JUDY STAFFORD Homecoming week was exciting and fun-filled as last minute details were added to prepare 'for the annual events that took place. Beauty, rough football players, comedy, and suspense all played a part in creating the atmosphere which enveloped the 17th annual Pigskin Pow- Wow, held Thursday, October 22nd, in the gym. Decorations, by Pep Club added to the evening that was very much enjoyed by everyone. Judy Stafford was crowned queen by Coach Tingstad and reigned over the festivities. Her court included Junior Attendant, Judy Cooper, Sophomore Attendant, Leann Overwayp and Freshman Attendant, Debbie Vollbrecht. Before Queen Judy announced the winners, the tense air was filled with suspense. For the second time in their history at Bethel, the Juniors Iclass of '72I again won the coveted over-all trophy and placed first in the class divi- sion, with the skit, Who's Afraid of the Big Red Ed, Seniors rated second place in the class division, with Valley of the Braves. Mission: Ridicu- lous, Art Club's skit, placed first in the club division, and G.A.A. placed second with their skit, Three Cheers for the Braves. Friday afternoon the first Homecoming pep assembly was held. Key Club put on a skit, and Sophomores won the pep point for creating the most noise. Friday evening finally arrived. The Bravettes and Kathy Kleinsaucer did routines accompanied by the band. Royalty rode around the track in convertibles driven by members of Key Club. The one damper on the Home- coming activities was the loss to White River, 21-14. Climaxing the busy, fun-filled week was the Homecoming dance spon- sored by Pep Club. Students and alumni danced to the music provided by the Renaissance Fair. The Braves showed determination during the Homecoming game. 146
