lil CLASS Ill 'I'0llY On that very special day in January, 1946, twenty nine freshmen, full of hope and anxiety, enter- ed Bessemer High School. Having been smeared with lipstick by some of the upperclassmen, we were prepared for the misery of rushing to and from classes. Yes, we found our work hard, but before We realized it the time had come for the summer vacation. As the semesters came and went, our number diminished, the few remaining ones, with the help of reinforcements from other classes, continued the pursuit until, at last, we captured the glorious name of Seniors. We have much to acclaim, for our class has four members in the National Honor Society, seven in the Tri-Hi-Y, four in the A Club, five in the Sport Club, one in the Hi-Y, nine in the "B" Club, three inthe "Y" Teens, and four in the National Thespian Society. One of the members of our class received a special honor, Jo Ann Huff was chosen to represent Bessemer High School on the Laurie Battle Tour. Upon leaving high school some of us will get married and others will enter college. Though we may be separated, in our hearts the memory of our classmates, teachers, and friends will live forever. We shall always think of B. H. S. as the place where the most important chapters in our lives were acted.
