She has been a dynamic force for II.I A. working behind the scenes for many years. She juggles many projects at a time, using all of her time and energy to better our school. Yet, she always has time for a hug from a first grader or a smile for everyone. One teacher commented. 7 just happened to mention that I needed something done in my room in her presence, and within a few days it was done. She gives wholeheartedly and unselfishly of herself to us. her friends. And now we would like to return a small portion of that love to you. Through their work experience, they learned much discipline and responsibility. Some worked for spending money, or to just get out of the house. Most of the students who did ha e summer jobs admit that it Has well worth their time and effort. Heather Gable Remembering back through the years, we are reminded of the memorable times of our youth. I he first grade at the “Old fin house w as a true experience for our class. The reason being is that our teacher, Mrs. Sims, was believed to ha e received her teaching degree from the “Cracker Jack School of Higher Learning. Beginning the second grade was exciting. We had already learned to count, hut this year w e were doing more than just counting our fingers and toes. Mrs. Watson got us acquainted with Runaway Ralph a true hero to us in those days. The next year was to he an exciting one for our class. For the first time in our school history, we had a goddess for a teacher. Her name was Paula Jenkins. Ves. Miss Jenkins was a fabulous teacher, hut because she could not tame us. from this evolved the all telling nickname, the ZOO The fourth grade year was coming up fast. Our new teacher was Miss Abercrombie. We were all impressed by her famous impression of Rosanna Rosanna Danna. At the end of the year, she put smiles on our faces and sent us on our way. The fifth grade season was to he the year that we could explore the world. Mrs. l.ushington, our tour guide, was going to teach us everything we wanted to know about China, hut were afraid to ask. ” Yes, this year was full of thrills and chills for us. As we look hack, we remember our daily excursions to the all famous lunchroom. We were all shocked by our teacher in the sixth grade. W e called her Mrs. mean Bean because she was definitely that. Mrs. Bean was believed to hate had Alzheimer's disease because she had so much trouble remembering our names. We had finally entered highschool. and boy were we excited. Well, we were excited until . until we took our First exams. We soon discovered that cramming for exams was not so easy! This was the year that we all did some growing up. Well, this was our second year of junior highschool. Mr. Honeycutt was our science teacher. That year we spent alot of our time looking for bugs and flowers and receiting had grades for doing it. W e didn't understand how a man so little, could be so cruel. On the other hand, we liked our English teacher Mr. ines. Mr. 'ines was popular to us because each day we wondered which pair of his colorful socks he would wear next. Our ninth grade year brought new and exciting things into our young lives. This year we would end up winning the homecoming drawing, which to us. was a major achievement. Yes. the freshman year brought many different aspects of school and social life into our minds, (well the social part of it. any way!) When we finally reached the tenth grade, we all quickly developed the attitude of being big sophomores. It was thrilling to know that only two more years of school were ahead of us. This year we met Mr. Rogers replacement: Mr. Box. Mr. Box was a very nice man. and we were all relieved when we passed Chemistry I. Little did we know we’d he taking the course over someday. Our junior year was full of work for us. With the help of our class officers, we put on the greatest prom in school history. Another thing that is brought to mind when we think of our junior year, is our driver's licenses. Yes. this was the year that we left our parents at home so that we could battle the morning traffic ourselves. At last we are seniors and excited ones at that. This past year we have all been thinking of college, marriage, and children — all which frighten us. W e are very anxious to go to Florida together before we separate to go on our different roads of life. In closing, we had many good times here, and of course a few had times, too. But all in all we learned the most important lesson that was to he learned. It’s not Fnlgish. or math, or even science, hut instead it was a lesson of love and joy a lesson on life in general. But over the years that we. the class of I9SS. have attended this school, the main lesson that we learned can he summed up in one word FRIENDSHIP. Wherever he was, they would run and sit on his knee or get close ns they could to him. The children knew that Jesus lo ed them yen much. Jesus liked to watch the children play games together. So matter how tired Jesus was, he liked to have the children at his side. Sometimes he told them stories which they liked to hear. One day when he was speaking to a crowd of people, some mothers came with their children. They wanted the children to see Jesus and be blessed by him. The disciples thought Jesus was too busy to be bothered by the children. They told the mothers to take the children home. STROKS 'HO'7S It's a Friday afternoon, the sun is blocked by stormy gray clouds in the sky. Mud puddles are forming outside the school doors and tempers are rising inside the school doors. Lightning and thunder echoes through the quiet halls as an annual deadline draws near. Between bolts of lightning, a frantic chitter chatter can be heard from the biology room. The same room in which many jars of Lab organisms clutter shelves, students known as annual staffers, create small masterpieces. .4s the deadline approaches, a sign is hung on the door warning all un-authori .ed students to enter only at their own risk. Finally. ♦ lib had oerres y et relieved hearts, the annual pages are mailed. The annual staff can now go home and rest until the next deadline draws near. Everyone worked hard in annual staff. There were times in which vacations, dates, weekends and many other occasions were missed in order to complete pages for the annual. A thanks goes out to these annual staffers: Wendy Gurosky, Lisa Mooney. Andrea Thomas, Frankie Canant, Jackie Davis, Dawn Davis. Dusty Dunn. Beth Jordan. Christy Burchfield. Jammi Fierce, Alysia Boudreaux. Mrs. Ann Swanson was annual staffs sponsor and sacrificed many hours of her own time to keep it going. The annual staff's business manager was Ginger Smith.
