“Making friends for the world to see. . 3 “The time has come for closing books and long last looks must end, And as I leave I know that I am leaving my best friend. ” “My life has been a tapestry of rich and royal hue, An everlasting vision of the everchanging view. ” 5 “I feel the earth move under my feet; I feel the sky tumbling down. ” 6 7 Dedication She came to us in 1973, and with her she brought many gifts which she had to offer. She has given us the gift of her years of experience - her experiences with people and her experiences with life. She has brought us the knowledge that she has gained through those experiences and has shared it. She has also taught us that we cannot live only on the things we have learned from the past, that we must live each day to the fullest - for each day is a new experience. She has given us her gift of guidance and help. She has let us know that she is always there if we should ever need her. She has given us the gift of her friendship. Indeed, she is the friend of everyone here. She has given us the greatest gift of all - the gift of herself. Now. we give our gift to her - 8 Editor — Johnny Howton Asst. If I were but an adolescent again with bony knees and curlers in my hair, boyfriends calling on the telephone - life would be great. If I were but an adult where I could look back over my life with a smile and see that life had been good to me - life would be great. But you see, I'm not a child nor an adolescent. Neither do I have the things to look back on that makes one wise. I am only myself with a new day. A new day! How wonderful. I am making of my life today what I will be in the future. Let me strive to be a friend to all, to love and be loved. Let me always want to learn new things but never forget the lessons we learn from the past. No, I wouldn't want to be a child again. Nor would I like to be an adolescent again. I would not like being in my mature years. We have a future and we will strive to make it a better place to live. Class Poet { . c+j Nancy Nabors Class History It's ai ihis stage in life that we most regret growing old - leaving behind so many good times. It makes you feel someone is a hundred years old looking back to when we were only a teenager. In reality, it is us looking back and sadly saying so long to twelve years of the happiest times in our lives. It's now when we look back and remember elementary schools with recess and lunch. Next came junior high school and combination lockers. Then came the big time - high school. There we were, frightened freshmen who became silly sophomores who found it difficult not knowing anything. Then we began to grow up and became wild our junior year. We were so wild that it won the blue ribbon at stunt night and a mean look from the teachers. As Seniors we each began to realize who we really were and so we started rounding out our own unique personalities. We also began to live each day of high school to its very fullest because we had realized it was our last one. But, when we stop and think of all these things, none of it would have been possible if B. A. had never come to be. It seems that all the joys, sorrows, excitment and hard work we all put into B. A. has brought us all closer together. We hold memories of so many happy times that will never be replaced because they were all so very special. These are memories that are only once-in-a-lifetime things. Yes, it's at this time of the year that we began to look at our friends, knowing that we are going to miss those ones that have grown so special to us. But. we won't forget them for they have marked a special place in our hearts that will never be forgotten. Class Prophecy As you all know, the Class Prophecy Is ONLY the imagination of two people looking Into the future. Please use YOUR imagination and picture, if you will, the following things . . . The Class Reunion of 1985 is being held in what are the remains of the B. A. Gym. As we pass through a hole in the wall we come upon a crowd gathered around LARRY MASON who recently posed as a centerfold for Cosmopolitan. Among the distinguished people we find RUSTY REAVES, who now owns the Ms. Rusty’s Hairstyling Shop; and DAVID GRAY, a famous connoisseur of fine wines. We then see sitting on the only bench left from the bleachers, CLINT SMITH, owner of Smith’s Exterminators. We are fortunate to have CLINT with us on parole for the pre-meditated extermination of his sister. Beside him we see DANA GOODWIN and KENNETH COX, who have been married and divorced ten (10) times! They are talking with PAM MUIR, one of the most outstanding players for the Lipscomb LuLu's Basketball Team - coached by GUESS WHO? Next to PAM is ANN BARRY, who left her fiancee - Grady, for Greg Swindal. Meanwhile JILL WEBSTER has moved on to bigger and better things - DAVID MOOSE SEXTON! On another side of the room we spot NANCY NABORS, along with BRUCE ARNETT, who have established a commune in Opp, Alabama!!! Chatting with them is JOANN KURTTS who is very dejected since she lost the Winston 500 due to a pitstop made to freshen her make-up and grab a little bite to eat. They’re talking to CHUCK STONE, who along with STACY YATES, has just starred in the award-winning movie, The Reluctant Redheads!!!’’ JOHNNY HOWTON has just come in with seventh wife, Terri Ward, after an evening on the town at the former Cate Italiano, which JOHNNY now owns and has renamed Godzilla's Garage! VICKIE EVERETT, who is now employed at the Magic Fingers Massage Parlor, is over on the far side of the room trying to help and old friend, JOEL BRIDGES. JOEL is having a rather hard time of things, since his entire body Is in a cast. Over by the balance beam we find another group of our old classmates - AMY NABORS, JANE ROBINSON, and JOELLYN BECKHAM, who we fondly remember as The Three Stooges. AMY is just recoring from a nervous breakdown that she had after her prize mutt, Scamp, was brutally attacked by Kitty. JANE has just stopped by for a minute on her way to Pasquale’s and C.T.’s where she STILL goes every Friday night looking for excitement! JOELLYN has just gotten through doing some commercials for the Leggs Pantyhose Co. These three are conversing with ROBIN ESSMAN, who has finally found a job at the fair appearing as the lady who turns into a gorilla, and WILSON SAWYER, who failed at plumbing when he flooded the home of TAG (McCLENDON) and JEFF JONES. Over in the water, DON HUMPHRIES and LYNN McDONALD are discussing their problems. DON is in a state of deep depression after losing the Mr. Universe title to JAMES BREWER, and LYNN Is in a wheelchair due to Injuries received during a shimmy contest!!! CINDY REEVES has just ridden through the gym on her mini-trail to speak to MIKE McDONALD, SCOTT BURKES, and STEVE PARKER - the stars 137 of thai GREAT new T.V. series. “Ninety Minutes of Nothing. CINDY has won national acclaim for being the first female member of the Devil's Desciples! Over by the piano stands TERESA TRAMELL, manager of the Town and Clock Cafeteria. She is talking with SHARON BEARDEN, who owns a chain of Foosball Havens called Sharon’s Shacks, and JAMES QUINN, who is teaching classes in tattooing and body painting. With them is PAM STEWART, who has formed a new allfemale union at MacDonald's called Mama Macks. Across the room we see another rather large gathering including ROBIN BRYANT, who is still in her freshman year at Auburn because she is TOO involved. Others in the group include: ROBBIE SHEALY, who has earned the name Big Mama, since she and her 25 children now make up half of the population of Lipscomb: DARRELL TERPO, who has taken over Coach Chandler’s job at Big B. A.; STEVE LOVELESS, the Demolition Derby champion for the past 5 years; DEBBIE GUNN, (with Guuuurald, of course!), who is the hostess of a new T.V. show called Debbie Talks and Talkes and Talks . . . and new country and western singer, KEITH ABER-ZOMBIE, with his new hit - Pickin' Grinnin', which he dedicated to his mother-image, Linnie Mae Brob-ston! Word has just reached us that STAN BROBSTON has driven up in his '57 Chevy, thinking this is a retake of the skit, Greasy Gary's Last Stand. Kind-hearted STAN has brought with him former Professor PAT REID, strait jacket and all. PAT was put in an institution after trying unsucessfully to answer the mind-shattering question, What does 2 plus 2 equal? Huddled over by a fallen basketball goal are several B. A. alumni. KEN KNIGHT, mayor of the fair city of Lipscomb, is standing spellbound while listening to DARLENE DABBS, the teacher in charge of play period at Plantation Manor, talking about two of her best pupils, DEBBIE MARSH and JOHN ORANGE. We are sorry that TERESA JONES and SUSAN BUNN could not make it tonight. TERESA is not with us because at her last opera performance she cracked her contact-lenses when she hit high C. SUSAN has not been heard of since graduation, when she rode off into the sunset in Dewayne's Hot Rod! !!! It is now time to pan. There are a few tears and promises of getting together again, which we hope will be kept. Thanks to all of you for taking our imaginary trip with us. And to all of our friends and to B. A., that we are leaving behind this year, we hope to say when next we meet . . . You’ve come a LONG way, Baby!!! 138 CLASS PROPHETS.
