J.V. Basketball X The J.V. Basketball team got off to a slow start losing its first five games. With each game, the team got succesfully better, but lacked the confidence needed to win. After not so gentle prodding, we finally put it all -Q together and won our next four games, a record for recent J.V. teams. We relaxed and lost our final two games. The season was marked by strong performances by David Coolidge and Bill Krisher, with good support from Brad Rogers, Randy Preston, and Tom Spaulding. A , , A LxLLL SX O C -I-9 V ...x y The 4979-4980 Berwick Academy Hockey Team had a very successful season with a 7 wins and 3 losses record. Anders Frelin was voted the most improved player, Dean Gilbert, the most valuable player, and Brad Allen was voted captain. Because of early morning practices, a great deal of dedication was demanded from each player. As a result, head Coach Douglas Housten, was able to mold this group into a team very quickly. Mr. Housten did his usual excellent job coaching and says that with such young talent as Joey Chase returning, the future looks bright for our hockey program. All the players would like to thank Mr. Housten for his unselfish attendance at all early morning practices.
