The level of compeTiTion which They faced was superior and The level of play which They aTTained was excellenT. The young players who Took The field Two years previously had come of age. Lucas Merrow, Eric VanZanTen, Jack Spaulding, Jed SuTTer, and Kenny PlanTe had all grown up, Add To This some new sTudenTs wiTh The TalenT of Brad Allen and Ken Bodwell and bring some J,V. Through The sysTem like Jim Gagnon and Phil Ruck and The ingredienTs are There for a successful season. The season was successful. Going up againsT Teams from larger schools, we ususally sTayed wiThin one goal and puT pressure on unTil The final buzzer. The mosT exciTing game was a 3-2 loss To Holderness in a well played display of The arT of soccer. Team capTains Brad Allen and Kenny PlanTe were good leaders and iT was especially pleasanT for Kenny as iT was his Third sTraighT year as capTain. The Boys' Junior Varsity Soccer team had another enjoyable ,., .. res, ,,.s. ,sm No, lt's mine. ,WY ' 4: 1, season. The team depended upon team play and cooperation it 1 rather than individual efforts. The leaders in this spirit were halfbacks Alan Travers, C.J. Burke, Ben Thayer, Iinemen Joey Chase, David Coolidge, Otis Wirth, and fullback David Kitteridge, The rest of the team responded with a balanced attack and a hustling defense. The team had several victories where it outplayed a better team with its own passing and agressiveness.
