Unauestionably, the launching of the dramatic series, Laverne and Shirley, belongs at the top of any meaningful list. This show had a profound effect on American culture, setting a new standard of artistic expression while providing fresh insights into our complex society. ABC deserves the thanks of the American people for maintaining a tradition of enlightened and uplifting television programming. Can the 4980's produce a similar triumph? both. Elliott L. Louise Dustin Dean of Women Mathematics Last summer when I made the difficult decision to leave a school where I had taught for a number of years and to move to Berwick, I had no idea what I would find behind the doors of Maine's oldest school, I am happy to report that a friendly, hard working and enthusiastic faculty is matched only by the same qualities in the student body.
