Unauestionably, the launching of the dramatic series, Laverne and Shirley, belongs at the top of any meaningful list. This show had a profound effect on American culture, setting a new standard of artistic expression while providing fresh insights into our complex society. ABC deserves the thanks of the American people for maintaining a tradition of enlightened and uplifting television programming. Can the 4980's produce a similar triumph? both. Elliott L.
