hazy That all over just let rt pass It was rn September of 1945 that 24 httle boys and grrls marched up the stalrs of Berthoud Grade School to thelr frrst teacher Mlss Tyler Those of our present class who started then are Donna Adler, Karen Kaye Wrlllams Judy Ferguson Karen Starck Bob Straight JoAnn Schlerger Mary Vona Stevrng and Rosemary Ramos The next years of our schoollng took place ln good old Berthoud Grade School unul 1952 when we entered Junror Hlgh In the Seventh Grade Mr Harold Russell drd a frne job ln trymg to teach us the ways of the Hlgh School Our Elghth Grade teacher was Mrs Arthur Ferguson Entenng our Freshman year we were greeted by the Sen1ors and 1n1t1at1on The new people of the year were Leroy Wlsenburg, Rlchard Salazar, Bernelda Dechant, and Beverly Meyers We lost Betty Hart Grlbert Ornealas Beverly Myers, Sonny Lopez Leroy Wrsenburg Ann Henry and Danrel Hernandez, Our Homecomlng theme was the Declaratron of Independence Our Sponsors were Mrss Yanke and Mr Darazlo Our one class party was a chrlx supper served by our room mothers The enrollment of our Sophomore class was 29 Our new members were Neva Kelley Beverly Myers Damel Hernandez and Dlck Rleder We lost Raymond Welch Patsy Day and Neva Kelley h As Sophomores we decorated for the Homecomlng dance We selected 'The House of Blue L1ghts for our t eme Our hearts were deeply saddened by the loss of a very dear frrend and helper Vlncent A Clma We had one class party We went skatrng at Longmont and we all 1nv1ted guests Coach Autrey and Mrs Fer guson were our sponsors On August 27 1956 we entered our Jumor year ln full swmg The new members th1s year were Isabel Naranjo Dennls Marsh and Barbara Thompson We lost Drck Rreder Irene Stahlecker, Rosemary Ramos Danxel Hernandez Beverly Orback and Dorothy Sterkel Our theme for our Homecommg float whrch placed thrrd was Paul Bunyan In decoratmg for the Homecommg dance we followed the theme of famous men, usmg lrvmg Berhn and some of hrs famous song tltles Durmg the year we sold at several football and basketball games A food sale was also held rn order to help rarse money We also sponsored sock hops after the games In December the Jumors presented a play called The Adventures of Tom Sawyer ' It was a huge success and very well done Mrs Nancy Ferguson dlrected the play Trme rolled by and Apnl appeared trme for the Prom The theme 'Moonllght and Roses,' was carrled out very mcely The banquet was held at the Wayslde Inn at 6 30, Aprll 27 1957 From the Inn everyone adjourned to the hugh school audrtonum to see one of the most beautlful proms rn the hlstory of B H S Everyone had a won derful and most enjoyable time They w1l1 talk about rt ln the years to come we are sure Oh yes the punch was sxmply delicious We started our senlor year wlth a bang the Freshman Inrtatlon and Receptron Rxght after that we had our Homecommg The theme was Famous Saylngs Our float was 'Pikes Peak or Bust and for the dance we used I See Stars Our class was a small one th1s year wlth only 22 members We lost only one Geraldmg Brehm, and we game two, Gall Ketterlmg and Rosemary Ramos Besrdes our many actxvxtles, we sponsored Sock Hops after the games and the Valent1ne's Dance on February 8 We were entertained on May 3 by the Jumors wlth a very n1ce Prom and banquet whxch everyone enjoyed On Tuesday, May 20 we fmxshed our school Early Wednesday mornlng we were all ready to take off for G wood Spnngs where we spent three days of sknng swrmmmg horseback rrdrng, and just plain loafmg You ca lmaglne how much fun we had' We returned Friday for class night The next few days were fxlled with actlvlty, Our progressrve Supper, Baccalaureate, and fmally Tuesday, May 27, GRADUATION' We hope all the future classes w11l have as many
