DOUGLAS WAGNER FFA 23 Class Play 4 Physical Ed 34 Annual Staff 4 hsinrg On May I4 i953 one could see how h:iPDY the Seniors were on this day the day of their graduation But through our happiness one could see a slight glimpse of sadness as we realized we would soon be leaving our friends and BHS Gerald Huerta julian Huerta jon Deanes Claude Lee Barbara Nolde Shirley Schleiger Virginia Steving and Duane Swanson have completed all twelve years in the Berthoud Schools The rest of the class has joined us along the climb to success We reached high school as green freshmen in the year of l9S0 We really found out who the under classmen were when we were initiated by the mighty Seniors in September We had thirty members the year before and this year we received Gerald Spencer Shirley Dort Buriel Higgins Marvin Moore Georgia Sanderson Douglas Wagner Dorothy Wacker and Bill Krieger Class officers chosen were President Dorothy Hanson Vice President Barbara Lenhardt Secretary janey Berglin and Treasurer Shirley Schleiger We held a square dance party shortly after Christmas which proved to be loads of fun Marilyn Urbom was our homecoming attendant in our class We had added Dorothy Hanson and Marilyn We numbered thirty one sophomores jimmy Schoonover Leo As nicar Ann Linch Bob Brehm Shirley Sterkel Ronna Mangan and Dell Shults were the new members of our class We lost Shirley Dort Bill Krieger Ann Linch Ronna Mangan Leo Asnicar jimmy Schoon over Dell Shuits Marjorie Rose Buriel Higgins and Marvin Moore The class decorated a float for homecoming parade and also decorated the gym for the Freshman reception Class officers chosen were Pres :dent Dale Nelson Vice President Ronna Mangan Secretary Shirley Hanson and Dean Davis As juniors we numbered twenty two We had gained one new member Ronald Clark We realized the job we as juniors would have We produced the three act comedy DANCER WILLIE AT WORK which was directed by our sponsors Mrs Hanna and Mr Mohler We had several parties throughout the year We went to Dean Daviss house for refreshments after the play We decorated the Presbyterian church basement which was the place we entertained the Seniors on May 3 We arranged the tables in an R representing the Rainbow Candles of the colors of the Rainbow were placed on the tables Small miniature roses and carnations formed the nut cups These were the class flowers The programs and program numbers were in con 6 ' , . The welcome was gaven by the lunaor Presadent, janey Berglan, and the response by Senaor Presadent, Ardath Rose, Walters and waatresses were chosen from the Sophomore class and were dressed an skarts and sharts whach were the color of the Raanbow, We then took our guests to the gym where the Raan. bow theme was carraed out, The Raanbow ran along the north wall and behand at salver streamers, which looked lake raan, hung down, A packet fence, wath roses entwaned, closed off the small booths and the band. Homecomang was held on October 3, We had a parade and prazes were gaven for the best floats.
