Qflass linsiurg' On the 22nd of May 1952 we heard many uproarxous yells from the graduatmg Semors of 52 We had flnally come to the end of our hlgh school career As we go on our respectlve ways we remxmsce mto the hxstory of the class Shlrley Kmg Beulah Conder and Genevleve Yates have completed all twelve years of thexr present educatlon m the Berthoud Schools The remamder of the graduatmg class Jomed them during later years In September 1948 we made our flrst appearance 1n the halls of B H S as Freshmen We began the year wlth an enrollment of thxrty seven, several of them comlng from outly1ng dlstrlcts of that class were Darlene Brown Beverly Buehler Buelah Conder Carolyn Conklm Nancy Ferguson, Lols Frazler Lavonne Ferney Murxel Hlggms Evelyn James Shlrley Kmg Mary Lopez Joan Ostermxller Eleanor Ramos Ardlth Rose Lo1s Sovme Wxlla Faye Hecken llble Barbara Sterkel Velda Sterkel Esther Taylor Vxolet Templeton, JeanW1lson Genevleve Yates Robert Aschenbrenner Robert Blrdsxll Robert Connor, Jlm Daughtery Ed Durbm Jxm Krelger Buddy Lafferty Darrell Moore Donald Newman, Lloyd Noss Frank Ramos George Rueter, Robert Schlelger Vernon Sterkel Vlctor VanD1v1er, and Salxto Hernandez The f1rst month of that year we were lnxtxated by the mlghty Semors Each Freshman was attlred rn a drfferent costume whlch caused many laughs from the upper classmen Dates were appomted by the Semors for the Freshman Receptxon Freshman offxcers were Presxdent J1m Krelger Vice Presldent Bob Aschenbrenner Treasurer George Rueter Secretary Robert Schlelger Student Councll representatwes Beulah Conder and .hm Daughtery Mr Lester Arnold was our sponsor We entered a float rn the Homecoming parade Eleanor Ramos was one of the Queen s attendants A plcmc was held at the end of the school year at the Loveland llght plant As Sophomores, we lost Lavonne Ferney Loxs Sovme Esther Taylor Vlolet Templeton Wllla Faye Heckenllble Robert Connor J 1m Daugherty Donald Newman Frank Ramos Vernon Cordell Remer Melvln Gentz, and Verlyn Gardner We decorated the gym ln green and whlte for the Freshmen receptxon We entered a float m the Homecommg parade our attendant for that year was Ardlth Rose We partxcxpated ln several school 8CtlVltleS We chose our class rlngs rn February Thus year we elected as offxcers presldent Lo1s Frazxer V1ce presl dent J'1m Krelger, treasurer Robert Sch1e1ger and secretary Beverly Buehler Class spon sor was Mxss Pearl Wrlght As we proceeded up the ladder as Jumors we lost Bob B1rds1ll Ed Durbm J 1m Daughtery Darrell Moore, V1ctor Van D1v1er Charles Robertson Cordell Remer, Ioan Ostermxller and Eleanor Ramos We galned Marxlyn Koester Joan Lynch Georgene Klehn Carolyn Krause and Carol Creason Agam the class decorated afloat for the Homecommg parade the attendants were Evelyn James and Beverly Buehler Durmg the year two food sales were held to help fmance the Jumor Senxor prom The .Tumor play entltled Good Graclous Grandma was presented by one cast on November 30th and by another on December 1 The plays were dl rected by the class sponsors Mxss Wrxght and Mrs Fxshburn The class has always had a good record for contrnbutmg to worthy orgamzatlons On March 20, we had a skatmg party at Loveland After the party refreshments were served at the home of Genevleve Yates On Aprxl 29 the .Tumors entertamed the Semors at a banquet and prom The theme was Treasure Island The banquet was held at the Presbyterlan Church and the prom m the hlgl school gym The banquet tables were decorated w1th treasure chests and tmy palmtrees The nut cups were small shxps the favors were tmy sabres txed wxth class colors The programs were mmlature f1'02Sl11'G chests The program numbers were gwen pxrates names The welcome was gxven by George Rueter, Jumor class presxdent, and the response by Barbara Munter, semor presldent Walters and wa1tresses were chosen from the Sophomore class and were attzred as pxrates The centerpnece ln the gym was a treasure nsland Tmy booths were separated by fxsh nets, and small colored lanterns hung above each booth The walls were decorated w1th treasure maps and pirate ships Sparkling stars hung from blue streamers represented the sky Punch was served by the waiters and waitresses at mter missions Music was furnished by Shank's orchestra of Loveland J un1or officers chosen were of , , . 4 . .
