The Story of Our 49 50 Calendar School days here at Berryv1lle Hlgh got otf to a flymg start on September 9 Of course everyone had a wonderful txme trymo to work out a schedule and when this was flnally done found that they had slgned up for enhrely d1fterent courses than had previously been thelr 1ntent1on lhere were only two really eventful happenlngs dunng September the one whlch I have Just mentxoned and the annual Carroll County Farr near the end of the month Almost all the kxds went to the Farr and thought nothmg whatever of brmgmg an excuse to Mr Cooper unt1l they were unexpectedly called xn to see hxm later Now October IS an xmportant month around B I-I S for more than one reason Football season opened here on a brand new freld wxth the bxg bleachers and huge floodlxghts Then of course Halloween comes ln October doesnt rt' Isnt that enough wxthout mentlomng the carn1va1 There was a teachers meet1ng at Harm son Do you need to know why I mentloned the teacher s meet1ng School turned out' The rest of the wmter months proved to be full of mterestlng BCIIVIIIES as usual In November there was Thanksgwmg vacahon and then the last football game m whlch we showed the colors of ole B H S by beatmg Spnngdale 33 I3 Somethmg new occurred m December Old Grads Day was held here on the twenty fxrst A large group of graduates of Berryv1lle H1gh turned out A l1ttle later the teachers took a good long breath and turned the krds loose for nearly two weeks of Chrlstmas vacatlon Dur1ng vacahon the Chrxstmas Basketball Tournament was held here m all 1ts glory In January the students dec1ded they had had enough school l1fe for awhlle so an 1ce storm was summoned to the rescue and a weeks vacatxon declared. Now Berryv1lle as qulte the basketball town In February the Jumor Dxstnct Tournament was held here Berryv1lle placed thxrd and several team members recelved 1nd1v1dual awards You should have seen the semors here today They declared tacky day on February 15 Oh my graclousl In every school sprmg xs the bus1est part of the year and B H S 15 no ex ceptlon.
