I ' . e . . . , O . , lasted until 3:00 a. m. and then we had a general session on the old times at Berry. L- I if 4 M gf i an his 0 P H E Uune Class Girlsl Let us look into our crustal ball and see what glimpses of the future we may glean from it Gather 'round now, all ye Berry Seniors and the ceremony will begin Abacadabra, Sp1rit of the Misty Orb, arlse and dissolve the clouds of t1me for we de sire to know what you can tell us of the future Behold! What vision is this I now see? Is that the stage of the Metropolitan Opera House9 Yes, I believe it is and what a crowd' No doubt we are about to see some famous Prima Dona The curtain is now iising we shall see My frlends, do my eyes deceive me or is it that the noble figure of Willie Faye Brown? Surely all of those people aren't paying to hear that same squeaky soprano that vibrated in the ear of every Clara Hall occupant 'way back in '49 We listen with joy to her now lovely vo1ce and when intermission comes, we follow a stately looking matron who steps haughtily among the crowd Underneath the folds of satin and sable we detect a faint resemblance to our old pal, Nena Wells, and she is dragging her chubby little husband along behind her She smiles at a couple who are cooing over by the water fountqin Jean Danials and Milton Chambers it is, and this scene-lggks very familiar with one exception they aren't fussiggh Well, lmpossible things do happen e vision gress in Washington, D C woman is argueing herself native state Yes, It is T'ere, above the noise and cigar smoke, a red in the face as she def1antly defends the Gloria Bush, the Georgia Senator' Furiously word at the reporter's desk, we noticed Pat Florence, the famous world short little rights of her copying her every correspondent This once green but now worldly wise friend of ours has just returned from Europe where she has been gathering more fame She is evidently the best authority on the latest DSUS Our contemplations of the literary efforts of our former classmates are terrupted by the loud bawling of a freckled faced, red headed, dirty little brat who is pulling the hair of his identical brother A murder is narrowly averted by the anxious discipline of their beautiful mother whom we easily recognize as Montine MortonCThe freckle cream must have worked after alll? Next, a famlliar American scene group of women who are engaged in a game friends as Mrs Melvin Brock, the former Clarkl, and Mrs Jim ViceQPatricia Level known exploits of actress Betty SmithCBy Phili S ur' I flashes into our v1ew and we gaze upon a of bridge The group includes such old Sue Chambers, Mrs Richard BarleyfGeorgette The subject of conversation was the widely the way, not married yet, but still chasing Clou y films arise to mar our visions of the future peer deeply into the dark recesses of the crystal ball, my friends, lest the magic spell be broken' As the mist fades away, we see Atlanta, where Mary Frances Nicholson and Peggy McNew are holding their their trays high above the ferns of the SGH Cafeteria Evidently, they have been shopping, for Mary Frances is so tired that she stumbles and falls headlong into the luscious depths of her strawberry shortcake Dont' laugh, she is cratically injured' The capable Peggy takes charge of the situation at once, calls the ambulance and is in no time in the operating room of the Grady Hospital Here the collected and effic isnt Dr Dolline Thompson sets the A speeding Buick appears, It stops suddenly as the occupant, with open arms two well worn bums, her ample wing, as she has already that Kit and Reba are tramping sro un on com unism Can you beat that' anm blotting out the scenes of sorrow at the hospital Miss Wynona Early, climbs briskly out to welcome Kit Keath and Reba Cox As Wynona takes them under done for half the population of Rome, she learns d the country gathering material for their book Leaving Kit and Reba in Wynona's care we see the interior of a fashonable modeling studio Our eyes widen at the scantily clad figure of Miss America of 1959 Can it be that modest little Joanne Hunter' You guessed it and we thought those 19 L9 bathing suits were pretty bad' A closer look at the artist reveals the excited countenance of Belle Pickett who is too absorbed in her work to notice the entrance of Madam Sara Jordan. The Jordan Modeling Agency has given too much competition to the Powers Modeling Agency that went our of business last month. From New York, we pass on to Washington again. There beside the Lincoln Memorial our eyes fill with tears as we see our old classmate, Claire Hamrick, chisled in marble above her grave. Around the pedestal, on which the now cold image of the once enthusiastic Clair stands, are her poems which have made her famous as the greatest poet in America.
