Our 1959 SPOTLIGHT was selected best in the state among schools our size. Doris Esary, co-editor of the 1960 SPOTLIGHT, accepted the plaque at the convention of the Alabama High School Press Association. She is showr here with the other state winners just before they appeared on a state-wide television proa gram. joe Tyner was voted most valu- able football player of the 1959- 60 season by his teammates. Coach Deason presented the trophy to him at the football banquet in November. CU Our Barbershop Quartette appeared first at the Glee Club recital in December but were called on again to entertain the queen at Campus Queen Coronation.
