In our world of strug- gles against poverty, famine and catastrophe, we became increasingly aware of the efforts of people helping others in time of need. Efforts like LIVEAID and FARM- AID became more than entertainment on MTV. It was the collective ef- forts of the rich, the famous, the poor, the concerned growing together in the spirit of caring for others. While socializing with friends at Hoover Square or 2001, it is not easy to imagine a catastrophe like the Mexican earthquake or starvation in Africa. Many of us can ' t envi- sion such turmoil. Our view of the world is shaped by our own ex- periences — our laughter, our tears, our hopes, our dreams. As we attempt to make the world a better place, we strive to attain the universal al of all mankind --- World peace and happiness. ?««MU;
