Jo Ann Pritchett J| Our principal for 8 years, Mrs. Pritchett, was educated at Birmingham Southern and the University of Montevallo. She holds the AB, M.Ed., and AA degrees and has received many awards for her achievements including The Lawrence L. Malone Outstanding Principal Award, selec- tion as one of two principals in the country to serve on the National Commission on Professional Standards for the Principalship, and selection as the State Representative for the National Association of Secondary School Principals. From student to teacher to top administrator, Mrs. Pritchett is the epitome of pride — pride not only in our school but also in our community. Working with community leaders, parents, teachers, and students, she strives to promote a favorable environment for learning and academic excellence. Mrs. Pritchett supports Berry not only by promoting academe but also by being supportive of student activities. She shows her school spirit by often attending school events and wearing black, white, and orange in support of our Bucs. Her sense of humor and ready smile make her a positive in- fluence on all. When away from her office, Mrs. Pritchett enjoys traveling and spending time with her family — especially being Gran- ny to her grandchildren — Grant, Matt, and Alison.

Charlotte Ray Y As Library Aide, Mrs. Ray goes beyond what one might expect. She is always ready to assist teachers and students and never seems to be harried by last minute requests for copies and materials. With a faculty and staff of more than 80 and a student body of about 1400, the demands of this job often become more than many could handle. Mrs. Ray ' s calm demeanor and never-ceasing desire to help others in- spires admiration and respect from all. Mrs. Ray has been at Berry for 17 years. In addition to commanding the copy machines. Mrs. Ray serves as an important liaison with the Instructional Materiels Center and the teacher. Making sure that equipment is readily available is also important. It is Mrs. Ray who often sees that the instructional program runs smoothly. In her spare time, Mrs. Ray enjoys traveling — she never misses the February NASCAR races at Daytona. Another of Nanas favorite pastimes is spending time with grandchildren: Daniel, Sam, and Rachael.
