Homecomin Nieht School spirit fills the air Homecoming night as students, parents, and alumni crowd into Berry ' s stadium. The festivities begin early with the Homecoming parade of floats. Although there is a car- float collision the parade is a great success and all the floats reflect hard work and imagination. The kick-off starts the game, and the excitement and enthusiasm of the spectators is transmitted to the players on the field. The first half of the game ends with Berry trailing Erwin, but loyal fans are optimistic for the remaining quarters. At last the long-awaited halftime announcement is made, and Diane Lewis is crowned Queen midst a flurry of hugs, tears, and popping flashbulbs. After the playing of the Alma Mater, determined Buccaneers make a dramatic comeback to defeat the Erwin Eagles. All Berry fans are jubilant, and for the class of ' 76, this Homecoming victory means an especially happy memory. 25

Senior Beauty Walk A new situation faces the sen- ior girls this year: a top thirty, and a two day Beauty Walk. Only the participants and judges are present for the cas- ual wear presentation of the twelfth annual Beauty Walk. The big night, Friday, is formal wear, and the long awaited announcements of the final- ists. No heat in the dressing rooms adds to the confusion of the 1 25 nervous girls trying to get ready for the call to line up. On both nights, the dress- ing rooms are filled with excitement, rollers, hairspray, and Mrs. Kelly saying You ' re too pale, put on more blush! After a final walk down the runway by the top ten, the judges choose Lisa Newton as Miss Senior Class 1 976. 26
