Dr. Pepper, R.C. or 7-Up? now boys, this isn't how it's Time to make the tortillas! done. The Social Studies department at BUS must play a vital role in the eudeation of our students. We live in such a history laiden area of the world dating back before the time of recorded history and yet we are very much a part of the modern world today. Our department strives to relate the past to the present. We attempt to answer the questions: ‘Who are you? Where did you come from? how did we develop the world we live in today? Where are we headed? How can we avoid the mistakes of the past?'' We want our students to understand that the world is made up of more than just the three cultures of the Rio Grande River Valley. We must learn to respect, understand, and live in peace with all the people of the shrinking world. -Jim howden 15.1
