Lowell Gutdattrr Court te lor To The Class of 1964: Someone has claimed that nothin? is so astonishing in education as the amount of ignorance it accumulates in the fora, of inert facts. This may be true if facts are left uncombined with life situations in the apparatus of daily Judgment making and uncatalyzed by the desire for constructive achievements. The transformation of inert facts into active, applied knowledge brings about some unusual properties. The product is without diminishing returns and has greater value than the sura of its original elements. The future will provide the apparatus and the life situa- tions. Your educational experience has provided the facts. You must provide the desire for constructive achievement. Tach is an essential element in a reaction which can help bring to you the enviable wealth of a wholesome existence. The faith anc aspirations of the faculty attend you in your search for this wealth. Sincerely yours, Hobert . Long , : ■ ipal 3
