CLASS PROPHECY 1952 Agent XL opened his eyes and stretched. Gosh, he thought, I've been asleep for 10 years. It's lucky I woke up or I'd have been out of a job. The job to which he was referring was that of Head of The Department of The Berlin High School Graduates . His committee had to watch over all the High School graduates on the planet EARTH. Naturally, he had chosen to take care of the Berlin High School students, leaving the rest of the classes to his assistants. Right now he was making his report on the Class of 52. Gee, he thought, I'd better get down there right away and see how they're making out. It's been 10 years since they graduated, and I don't know what's happened to any of them. Agent XL materialized in the thriving little town of Berlin. He decided to walk down the street to the New Britain National Bank, which he had heard was being dedicated by the new mayor, Larry Clark. On the way he saw a sign, Eugene Anderson and Donald Wearne, Certified Public Accountants. Looking into their office he saw them hard at work dictating letters to their efficient secretaries, Erna Wolf and Winifred Bentley. He couldn't help noticing the tremendous number of bank executives that passed him on the street. He recognized them as Jack Riedel, Mario Focareto, Bill Gel-mini, Steve McGuigan, and Bill Magefferi. On his way once more, he came to a bill-board plastered with advertisements. One said, see BORN TOMORROW, co-starring Sandra Thompson and Pierre Bennerup. Another read, Vic Baccaro, star-pitcher for the Berlin Bloomer Boys, smokes Donkeys. He was surprised to see that Jim Pipkin, Jimmy Reeve, Bill Carlson, and Tom Andru-skiwicz were working on a house designed by the well-known architect, Robert Elliott. Finding himself in front of Carl Thorstenson's ultra-modern drugstore. Agent XL decided to stop in for a soda. He was surprised to discover that the soda-jerkers were Emilio Padelli and Terry Brousseau, the latter now being referred to as Mrs. Thorstenson. In the rear of the store he noticed the pharmacists, John Dunn, and Ralph DeVoid. He soon went on his way after paying the cashier, Ann Bernston. He noticed everyone staring at some passersby and was pleased to note that they were the famous models, Nancy Rogers, and Phyllis Wanet. Before he had gone much further, he met Bruce Koloski, the most popular dentist in town, going into Ken Stevenson's barber shop. It is rumored that Bruce has special rates for the teeth that he has filled, and, for some unknown reason, then has to pull. 18
