FRESHMAN CLASS HISTORY The school year of 1944-45 was a very successful one for the fresh- men. The class enrollment was eighty, thirty-seven boys and forty-three girls. Five members of the class, four boys and one girl, have dropped out since the first semester. Elections were held and the following students were chosen as class officers: Herbert Lopp, president: J. D. Iden. vice-president: Mamie Batt. secretary: Glenwood Goodman, treasurer. The class decided to have for their colors a banner of green and gold. The class has an abundance of talent—eight members are in the band, seven freshmen were on the football squad this year, nine members make up the school’s junior varsity basketball team (this team has the best record of any in the tri-state league), Mamie Batt and Kenneth Michael were awarded good citizenship” medals by the D.A.R. in the eighth grade. The freshmen, who will be seniors in three more years, hope to bring many honors to their school and class. The 1945 Warm Spring Echoes 23
