SENIOR CLASS HISTORY President ....................................Marston Youngblood Vice-President Andrew Kerns Secretary Elaine Perry Treasurer..............................................Ralph Rice When we entered as Freshmen in 1942 our class was the largest ever en- rolled in Berkeley Springs High School. We were very unevenly divided: 30 boys and 58 girls. In our freshman year our officers were as follows: President William Lawyer Vice-President Virginia Bageant Secretary Monica Mongan Treasurer Robert Klein In our sophomore year we had many outstanding students. One of our boys wrote our school song, two of our girls were cheerleaders. 14 members of the class were in the band, and many ranked high athletically and scho- lastically. Our officers were: President Monica Mongan Vice-President Mary Edmiston Secretary Thomas Unger Treasurer Robert Klein In 1944 five of our boys left us to join the “Armed Forces.” This gave us an enrollment of 58. Our class was led by the following officers: President Ralph Rice Vice-President Mary Edmiston Secretary Betty Yost Treasurer Elaine Perry Our class play. “Aunt Abby Answers an Ad. proved to be a great success. We were well represented in both athletics and clubs. We are now in our senior year, the most exciting year of the four. Our present enrollment is 14 boys and 38 girls. During the four years the class has been represented in basketball, baseball, and football. Several of the class members have won letters in these sports. A large number of the class are members of the following clubs: Hi-Y, Tri-Hi-Y, Beta Club, Masque U Gavel Club, and Press Club. “A class that participates well and does its utmost best describes the senior class. We feel that we have given our best to be a credit to Berkeley Springs High School. In the future we hope that we shall all be citizens of whom Berkeley Springs High School can be proud. 16 The 194 5 Warm Spring Echoes
