Senior Class History President Vice-President Secretary Treasurer Gwendolyn Everett Geraldine Weber Virginia Parlette Irma Crawford September 1939 marked the beginning of our High School career with thirty-one boys and thirty-seven girls enrolled. The Sophomores welcomed us with a reception which we returned with a Halloween Party. As Fresh- men we elected class officers as follows: President Bill Harmison Vice-President Betty Jean Fearnow Secretary Drue Dawson Treasurer Frankie Rice We were well represented in all athletics. Our girls' team was in the finals for the basketball tournament. We ended our happy-go-lucky freshman days with a picnic at Cacapon State Park. As sophomores with twenty-six boys and thirty-six girls we took our share of the honors. Our class officers were: President Vice-President Secretary Treasurer Frankie Rice Drue Dawson Marian Michael Douglas Courtney In November we gave the freshmen a reception which was returned in January. The Intramural and Homemakers Club was organized with several of our class taking active part. We topped all our honors by winning the finals in the basketball tourna- ment. We ended our second year with an unforgettable picnic at Hillside Lake Park. In 1941 we had twenty boys and twenty-nine girls enrolled. Our junior year was governed by the following officers: President Vice-President Secretary T reasurer Bill Harmison Drue Dawson Nancy Ann Grove Lea Anna Unger We were well represented in all athletics, and clubs. We proved our abil- ity by winning the badminton, volley-ball, and basketball tournaments. We got our rings in January and rounded up another glorious year with a picnic at Braddock Heights. So now we’re on the home stretch with nineteen boys and twenty-six girls. Fourteen members of our class compose the Hi-Light Staff: quite a few hold positions on the annual staff. There are seven senior boys on the basket- ball squad and five on the football. Three girls have led the band as major- ettes for four years. We are very proud of the fact that we have a printed paper this year which was entered in the State competition. We hope that our class will add many honors to the name of Berkeley Springs High School in the future and we hope that the members of the class will be citizens of which B. S. H. S. can be proud. 14 The 194 3 Warm Spring Echoes
