The 1986 Spring Student Senate was a body of bona fide pol- iticos who worked both wonders and miracles for their Berkeley High student constituents. Under the perverbial iron fist of Presi- dent Duru Ahanotu and the intelligence and wisdom of his charis- matic underlings, all the school ' s problems were solved in the first five weeks of the semester, and the Senate was forced to turn itself into a lunch club for the remainder of the semester. When the Senate did have work, and could not figure out a way around it, they set up several committees so that they would not have to work during lunch time. Quoted one Senate member, it was one boomin ' experience all around, I ' d say. In light of their obvious greatness, the Senate unanimously passed a resolution declaring themselves the best Senate Berkeley High had ever seen and commenced to throw themselves a large party. Essentially, the Senate was a productive and effective body, and when they were through, all the students of Berkeley High were happy and had no complaints. Said Joe Average Stu- dent I ' m happy and I have no complaints. Gosh, that Senate sure is good. Thanks, guys.
