Of cours nge, along with its joys for gentle sadness for many yester- e, it is time for graduation-- time of liberation for some seniors, time of undisguised relief for others and to some it means only a few mqre moments to grasp at the happiness of the fleeting high school years. But no graduate is left unmoved by the solemn- ity of services iso in twelve the Baccalaureatte and Commencement this year, 1948, another class after years of reading, 'riting and 'rithme- tic:'will receive those coveted diplomas which will be their passport to the ship, Success, that sails the ocean of Life. Lowell Thompson, freshman, broke a record in the freshman fifty yard dash,speeding in,in six seconds. MEEVIN NELSON Freshman relay 11110 yard dash Louis Lass, freshman, won a me-.H third and fourth in the mile. -1 t,- Qi He also placed ninth in the , State Cross Country race. Now, toward the end of the de- lightful spring season a touch of sadness as well as accomplishment blends with graduation to produce a combination only a senior can understand. The classof '48, under the sup- ervision ofC. C. Seeger, chose as their class colors, the striking combination of scarlet and gray, their flower was the lily of the valley and their motto, Elevator to success not running, take the stairs. C. C. Advanced Algebra Plane, Solid Geometry Senior Class Adviser Proving to be active in every field of extra curricula work, this class contributed their tal- ents to athletics, dramatlcs, mu- sic, journalism, and forensics. This year, the senior class chose as their officers Grace Henriksen, president, Grant Lark- in, vice-president and Charles Sundstrom, secretary-treasurer.
