The day chosen for lovers, Valentine's Day, was commemo- rated in BHS this year by the annual Sweetheart dance. Queen and King of Hearts, Joan Edbloom and Bill Thompson, with their 14 attendants rep- resenting all the four classes, reigned in the Legion hall the evening of Valentine's. The 527member band, directed by Theodore Trautman, began monthly concerts this fall. The group, resplendent in new uniforms, was taken over at mid-year by Katherine Johnson as the former director retired from teaching. Adding zest to pep meetings and games was the 18-piece pep band also led by Katherine Johnson.
