The Ranger's high points consisted of victories over Herrin, Metropolis, Centralia, and Harrisburg. The low points of the season were two point losses to Mt. Vernon, Carbondale, and West Frankfort. A 12--0 loss at the hands of a rough Marion team was the Rangers only convincing defeat. The tie on the Rangers’ record was their second meeting with Herrin where the two teams battled to a scoreless tie. Several Sophomores experienced valuable var- Sity action due to injuries that plagued the varsity Rangers. The Sophomore Rangers show great promise for the next two years and will be tough competition in the future. Sophomore coach Kenneth Hungate. 26

The Ranger Freshman ended a disappointing season with a 1--7 record. The lone win came at Harrisburg, the final game of the season 34--12. The yearling freshman lost to Eldorado, Cen- tralia, Carbondale, Marion, Mt. Vernon, Herrin, and West Frankfort. Although the Rangers suffered many defeats they never gave up until the final gun sounded. They were a true Ranger team who provided the fans many good football games. freshman football man football team: FRONT ROW: M. Odle, M.
